Dr Jenny Napier is a consultant in occupational medicine (MFOM), an accredited specialist on the GMC register. She considers the medical, workplace and legal complexities of each case to offer objective advice that is based on up to date evidence and guidance.

Dr Jenny Napier MFOM is a consultant occupational physician, delivering services in Somerset, Dorset and Devon. She is an HSE appointed doctor for health surveillance of workers exposed to lead, asbestos and ionising radiations, an Offshore Energy UK (OEUK) registered doctor, an Office for Rail and Road (ORR) approved doctor, and a FOM-approved HAVS tier 4 specialist.

What she uniquely brings to the table is her interest and skill in assessing and advising on mental health at work, her commitment to promoting wellbeing in consultations by deploying coaching skills, and her enthusiasm for allying with employers to leverage the workplace as a key setting for promoting healthy lifestyles. She enjoys delivering evidence-based occupational health for two UK government departments.

Her previous professional experience includes 14 years as a GP. She has also consulted to organisations on wellbeing, quality improvement and leadership. Her academic research focused on wellbeing at work, and she has authored several peer-reviewed articles and reports for the Society of Occupational Medicine regarding wellbeing at work.

FITNESS FOR WORK MEDICALS
Napier OH can advise on fitness for work, either as a pre-employment or periodic medical, including where there are regulatory or safety critical requirements. Dr Napier offers train driver and train movement medicals as an Office of Rail and Road (ORR) Recognised Doctor
PENSIONS & ILL-HEALTH RETIREMENT ASSESSMENTS
When health seems to be impairing a workers’ long-term capacity for work, Napier OH will provide an independent opinion on whether the worker meets the criteria of their workplace pension scheme.

Executive medicals focus on guiding individuals towards optimal health and wellbeing, using coaching skills to help your staff develop strategies for thriving.
ESTABLISHING A HEALTH SURVEILLANCE PROGRAMME
Napier OH can guide you through establishing a surveillance programme, as well as deliver the following input: Lead medicals under the Control of Lead at Work Regs 2002. Dr Napier is an HSE appointed doctor under CLAW 2002. Licensed and unlicensed asbestos medicals under the Control of Asbestos Regs 2012. Dr Napier is an HSE appointed doctor under CAR 2012. Classified worker medicals under the Ionising Radiations Regs 2017. Dr Napier is an HSE appointed doctor under IRR 2017.
